7/21/05 03:42 am - xandersillusion - A GOOD TRAVELING SPELL?

I am moving to Florida on Saturday and I have to drive and I was wondering if any of you have any spells or charms that would keep me and my roommate safe on our journey?

Thanks so much,
Xander

Merry Meet,

Long time no see! I haven't been capable of coming online lately, I'm sorry! But I just thought I'd let everybody know that i picked my Craft name at last! It is Saigh, the Gaellic word for she-wolf.

And now, something for everyone. Here is the FULL version of the Wiccan Rede. I found it yesterday online. I'd always thought only had, like, sixteen verses or something. Which I learnt off by heart. But this fuller version has so many more ;_; Enjoy!

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek.

Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's
insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

These Eight words the Rede fulfil:

"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

There it be. It's so... long.

I'll post again soon, hopefully.
Blessed be,
Saigh

6/28/05 11:35 pm - mostlycelt - Some things to think about

I thought I would pass on a few things that were passed on to me by a friend when I was just beginning to discover what paganism is all about..

The Redes...remnants of lost and forgotten Wiccan laws, redes speak to the heart as much to the head. Discover their inner meanings through meditation.

If ye would clear the path to will,
Make certain that the mind be still.

Silver in the well,
Secures the spell.

The guilty flee when none persueth.

Upon the clock,
Dependeth not.

The moving tide reveals the truth.

'Tis by the Sun that life is won;
'Tis by the Moon that change is done.

Secrets are best hidden upon the table.

Birds of the air
Don't care.

Those who hear not the music, think the dancers mad.

Enhance a trance
With chants and dance.

Walk in balance

Turn the spoon
At change of Moon

Question framed by archway, finds it's answer by the cairn

As you weave and spin your spell,
Threefold return the tale will tell

Danger is never overcome without danger.

Be silent as the sacred Oak!

Once a witch, always a Witch

Guard the Mysteries' reveal them constantly!

As above, so below

Nothing is ever lost

Know Thyself

When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

The only constant in the universe is change

Today will soon be yesterday

Thoughts are things.

I just had some pretty awesome news this week.
But I guess i better start from the beginning?

Okay, I started a Coven in my school... we have about nine members and we're all very close. We haven't been at it long. We have a very skilled Elder who will be leaving soon... but we've no High Priestess or Priest. So, guess what? My Coven members NOMINATED ME TO BE HIGH PRIESTESS!
It's a scary prospect. I've only just gone over the year-and-a-day thing (marked by the day after Litha/Summer Solstice) but my Elder will give me and my boyfriend (who has been nominated as High Priest dispact the fact that he's only been into Wicca for about two months) some books to read on leading Covens...
It's such a great honour, though! I hope you guys can all help me- you all soung so much more experienced in the Craf than me. I put up a good argument... I wanted Vickie to be the Priestess... I feel so useless.
^^;;

Before I forget...
MERRY LITHA(Summer Solstice) EVERYONE!

Blessed be,
Maria (Ick. I NEED a Coven name)

6/23/05 06:00 pm - mostlycelt - New to Community

I've just joined the Community and class myself as an Atheist with Pagan leanings...drawing heavily towards the Druidic aspects of things. My ancestry is Scottish/Irish/German/and Dutch. I've recently had to sell my New Age store due to declining health and so have more time to devote to my own interests. I started exploring paganism following the deaths of my parents 6 months apart and a meeting with a spiritual intuitive 3 weeks later. Combine that with a couple tarot readings and a rune casting by Raven Grimassi and well, things got a little out there. Over the last 5 years I've begun reading tarot myself (I use the Greenwood Tarot, a Pre Celtic Shamanistic deck) and have explored Reiki touch healing. I'm not practicing yet but having owned a store and having had access to tons of free materials I've done lots of research. I would like to pass along two books I've found very useful and that I highly recommend. Full Contact Magick, A Book of Shadows for the Wiccan Warrior by Kerr Cuhulain and Druid Magic by Sutton Mann, a must have in every library in my opinion.

6/13/05 06:23 pm - aiisling - Intro

Hello, all! I just joined this group...well, I just joined Live Journal too, lol. Anyways. I thought it might be polite to post an introduction, so, here it is. I'm a pagan, though not practicing but rather still researching everything that I come across(though I do have Wiccan leanings, and am interested in learning more). I like long walks on the beach, sunsets, picnics...oh, wait. Wrong forum ;).

Thanks for having me!

Recently wrote these out for a friend who was interested in these exercises, and thought I'd share. Credit goes to Scott Cunningham's book, WICCA: A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner.

Breathing, Meditation and Visualisation.Collapse )

I'll be writing up the Energy Manipulation exercises soon also.
